THE DIRECTORS

Alasdair Mitchell, director

Alasdair has worked in PR consultancy for more than 20 years but started his working life in the Army. He was commissioned as an officer in the Scots Guards and saw active service in Belfast and the Falklands.

He also had extensive dealings with TV, radio and newspapers at that time, having originally been trained in media relations by the Army to act as an approved spokesman in crisis situations.  In the mid 1980s he joined one of the world’s leading investment banks, Nomura International. Working in London and Toyko, he became involved in investor relations for newly listed companies, and was eventually invited to join the specialist financial subsidiary of Europe’s oldest PR firm, Charles Barker plc, based in the City of London.

In 1990, Alasdair returned to the North East and founded Robson Brown PR Ltd, the PR subsidiary of an advertising group.  In June 2000 Alasdair and his two fellow directors left RB to set up their own PR company, Mitchell Halton Watson Ltd.
