Task 
To promote the introduction of specialist solar PV electrical installation test equipment under the newly formed Seaward Solar brand. 

Solution / what we did
An intensive international media relations programme was carried out across specialist online and offline media channels during 2011.

Thought leadership pieces and technology articles were successfully written and placed in industry leading titles across the solar PV, electrical and building services sectors. These articles included explanations of key electrical installation standards and test technology issues for publication in leading titles in the UK, the USA and Australia along with other international media outlets.

An ongoing campaign of new product announcements helped to sustain regular coverage and maintain industry interest in specific instrumentation and test accessories.

Strategic links have been established with the main solar trade organisations and full use is made of specialist online forums and social media channels such as LinkedIn to disseminate news updates.

The company’s presence at solar trade shows was supported with press releases, show press packs and on-stand media interviews.

A specialist Seaward Solar industry newsletter was produced to help launch the brand and regular monthly e-news bulletins are produced that combine sector specific industry news with breaking product news and technology updates.

Results
Sustained positive exposure in the specialist press and online publications has helped to quickly establish positive awareness of the Seaward Solar brand and give it high levels of technical credibility. Widespread corporate and product coverage has generated considerable levels of sales enquiries and traffic to the company’s website.
