International Innovative Technologies (IIT) is gradually building a strong UK and international reputation. From a standing-still position, this engineering-based company turned to MHW PR to help launch and promote its patented milling technology to worldwide markets, helping stimulate new business leads.

MHW's long-standing experience in trade and technical PR is helping Gateshead-based specialist engineering firm IIT build a new technology business that is based almost entirely on export sales.

IIT has successfully patented new equipment that is used to reduce bulk materials into very fine powders, using very low energy levels. This gives the IIT milling system real advantages in the processing of waste glass, GRP, minerals and other hard materials.

In support of the new system, MHW has successfully implemented an international PR plan that has put the milling technology at the forefront of its sector.

News, features and information has been placed in specialist media serving a wide range of industry sectors to explain the new technology and introduce its benefits to prospective clients. The use of industry forums and trade associations have also been used to help spread awareness.

As the only proactive marketing communications activity undertaken by the company, the PR campaign has generated direct sales enquiries that have been converted into orders. Prospective overseas representatives have also responded to coverage, enabling a growing export sales network to be established.

As a result, the company order book is growing, with IIT's first contract in China, supporting sales in other countries as widespread as the USA, India, Lithuania and Portugal.
