MHW provides a range of public consultation services for EDF Energy Renewables in the often highly contentious field of onshore wind farm development.
With 25 onshore wind farms (early 2014) around the country, the company is already a leading producer of low carbon electricity.
The company also has a number of proposed new development sites around the country for which it is seeking planning consent. We have assisted the company with this work for a number of years, working on wind farm projects as far afield as County Durham and Devon.
In all cases, our role is to devise and implement community engagement strategies that maximise support for projects and ensure full transparency and feedback on the proposals. To achieve this, a series of fundamental principles are associated with all campaigns, although each individual programme also needs to be flexible enough to deal with specific local circumstances.
The early engagement approach we have adopted resulted in EDF Energy Renewables being highlighted by DECC as an industry best practice case study in a government report on strengthening community engagement with onshore wind farm projects.
