The 2013 event, featuring nationally recognised stars of screen, stage and sport, raised around £280,000 for local charities.
The spectacular Fashion Match combined fashion, food and sport along with the spirit of giving to raise money for Marie Curie, The Children's Heart Unit Fund (CHUF), and the Chef's Adopt a School Charity.
Involving football, rugby and cricket stars along with stars of the screen, Fashion Match took place in a giant marquee at Newcastle Falcons. Some 650 guests were entertained by comedian Bobby Davro and former Spandau Ballet frontman Tony Hadley and his 12-piece band.
The food was given the celebrity treatment with a nationally renowned line-up of chefs organised and led by Terry Laybourne of 21 Hospitality Group.
PR and marketing was required before, during and after the event. Promotion was required to help push ticket sales and raise awareness, generate buzz on the evening and finally to reveal the success and amount raised for local charities.
MHW led on social media activity - driving a lively Twitter account and creating a blog website to reveal and announce developments. We also worked alongside Claire Barber PR managing and handling more conventional press and broadcast media. This activity helped make the event a sell-out and generated extensive online and offline media coverage.
