MHW PR was engaged prior to its official opening to build anticipation and help manage the launch.
For almost four years we worked closely with the owners and general manager of this stunning 40-bed Arts and Crafts style hotel, building its reputation within and outside of the North East.
The PR and marketing task was to promote and position the strengths and values of both the hotel and restaurant; neither was playing second fiddle to the other. We established both on the regional radar fairly quickly.
Regional awards soon followed and it didn't take long for the hotel to take the number one position on TripAdvisor for top hotel in Newcastle. PR activity carefully managed this position on TripAdvisor.
Once the regional position was established the PR focus shifted to a wider drive-time area and more national. A rota of regular journalist visits was organised to create widespread coverage in lifestyle, travel and online media.
Extensive positive media publicity was generated nationally, in key titles like The Times, The Guardian and The Independent, along with more specialist travel and leisure publications.
Carefully targeted media promotions were also set up to influence key audiences. MHW also helped promote an annual week-long food festival featuring national and internationally recognised chefs.
All this activity helped establish Jesmond Dene House as the leading, independent boutique hotel and restaurant in Newcastle. Today, it continues to build on this success.
