Popular gastro pub The Broad Chare continues to wow drinkers and foodies, while also picking up regional and national plaudits from the critics.
MHW has managed the PR and communications for this successful pub since its opening event on Newcastle's historic Quayside in May 2011. We've had some great fun and plenty of great food along the way.
The Broad Chare continues to secure rave reviews on TripAdvisor. At the end of 2013 it was also named among the 20 best gastro pubs in Britain by readers of The Times in association with Hayden's. The pub, part of chef Terry Laybourne's successful 21 Hospitality Group, was described as an "operation that focuses on regional produce and traditional dishes done well."
As well as picking up awards in the North East, The Broad Chare has also been named as one of the best gastro pubs in Britain by leading trade magazine the Publican's Morning Advertiser.
Today, MHW helps out with occasional media enquiries, promotions and specific events such as beer and food matching dinners. Our greatest effort and input was in the months building up to the high-profile opening and the following six months.
Prior to opening, MHW developed an extensive online campaign for The Broad Chare. We managed a lively blog in the pre-opening months, building buzz and anticipation by sharing and disseminating updates via social media sites. As well as sharing four short videos, we also engineered positive media coverage in the national specialist media and regional magazines. All of this helped create the high profile launch needed to build up a strong and already loyal customer base.
